What do I know about Bulgaria? - very little!
So what made me decide I wanted to visit Sofia? - simply the fact that a return trip with BA would give me enough tier points to reach their Silver Status. I know this is really a silly reason to be booking holidays but with the travel limitations placed on us this year it has given me something to aim for.
Time I found out a little about the country we'll be spending 3 nights in.
About 3 1/2 hours flying time from London and 2 hours ahead, slightly larger than Iceland in size, with a population of 7M, of which about 1.2M live in Sofia.
I'm not sure there is a great deal to see/do in the capital, so we have hired a car and plan to spend Saturday and Sunday driving around the countryside.
